For some reason this book currently doesn't come up in Windsor story Amazon Listings about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, a shame because "The Windsor Story" is one of the better books among the many about this celebrated couple.
The book is seriously enthralling, and a much better read than several more recent biographies/5(48). My first foray into Windsor-and-Wallis-ology, and apparently there is a consensus now, since this book came out (), that the real reason behind the abdication was Edward's Nazi Windsor story and their potential to destabilize the ongoing debate, inover whether to go to war with Germany.4/5.
Wow. His memoir, certainly, but really a story of love. He is famous for his abdication. He did so much more. This book also serves as my read for the s of the Dewey Challenge, whereby I will endeavor to read this year at least one book in each category of Dewey (s, s, s, etc).
